Huntington Park HS: Won the Eastern League championship in the 1600 meters (4:21.0) and 3200 meters (9:39.0) as a senior and junior… Was a state qualifier in both events as a senior… Won the league championship in the 800 meters (2:01) and 1600 meters his sophomore season… As a member of the cross country team, he was a state qualifier in cross country his senior and junior years… Recorded a personal best time of 15:55 in a three-mile race and 16:30 in a 5K meet… Voted the soccer team’s Most Valuable Player his sophomore season…..
